EQUITABLE
LIFE ASSURANCE SOCIETY
We are aware that no buyer has been found for Equitable Life.
We are currently considering the best action for Scheme members who have a With-Profits AVC with that Company.
One
option we are considering is to stop any future payments to Equitable Life and transfer them to Prudential Ltd. We
are seeking confirmation that this is the best action
for those using Equitable Life before taking any action.
If this is the best way forward we will obtain sufficient data from Equitable Life in order to achieve a bulk transfer of data into the Prudential computerised system.
We have already alerted major employers to this possible course of action in order that they can, when requested, cease any further payments to Equitable Life.
In
the longer term we are seeking advice from both the Fund’s Legal Officers and
our
Actuaries in order to determine what other action we can take in the best
interests of
those using Equitable Life and the Pension Fund.
Details of all advice received and our proposed course of action will be posted on this Web Site immediately.
